The Latest Key Asset for Bournemouth?
A great deal has been noted about Bournemouth's organized defense despite a major overhaul in their backline, but it was an offensive signing who made the headlines in the match against Leeds United.
Eli Junior Kroupi was brought in to offer competition for main attacker Evanilson in the team's offensive line, and it was his late finish that secured Iraola's side a vital result on the road.
Eli Junior netted an notable a baker's dozen in the same number of matches for his former club last season, which helped the club toward moving up to the first division in French football.
Going from the France's second division to the EPL was always likely to prove a difficult challenge and, unsurprisingly, the player has up to now been limited to an impact substitute.
His introduction at the recent match coincided with the Bournemouth taking a ‘throw the kitchen sink at it’ tactic, but his coolness to fire in during injury time could prove to be a important tool for the team.
A reliable finisher will know where the net is at any level and Kroupi proved that with the way he got into place and calmly finished when needed – a pivotal moment for him.
Will the striker see increased playing time after his contribution on Saturday? Possibly. But without a doubt, the Cherries have uncovered one more component in Iraola's efficient setup.
